I have 6 Golden Sex Links and 4 Australorps, one of the "austas" a roo. What are some ideas that you guys thought were creative? We can't spend any money, since my parents put a challenge to my sisters and I to do it without any money.

What do you have available to you? You can use almost anything. I've seen wood boxes, plastic tubs, buckets, the list is endless. Try searching for pics of nesting boxes. There are ALOT of great ideas out there. Good Luck, you can do it!!!! :weee

A point of clarification is needed here. The parents said that you could do it without spending money, or that you could do it without spending any of their money? Because if its just not spending any of their money, then things are easier, as long as you have money.

You can take plastic totes that have a top and cut a hole in the side put some hay in and your chickens will be happy also they are very easy to clean just use a Water hose

Plain old cardboard boxes on their sides would be just fine - and you can get them free from most places so if they get yucky just toss and replace.

Yep, hit up a local bar, the boxes that bulk (bar) beer bottles come in are about the perfect size for nesting boxes and bars never have a shortage...

White 5 gallon pails that you can pick up for free from the bakery department at your local grocery store are perfect for nesting boxes. A little straw and you are in business.
