Mid March is the earliest that I have gotten eggs. Here in S.E. Oklahoma we can get up to 60 inches of rain in a year, generally by this time of year I am slogging around in ankle deep mud to feed each day so, I am thankful that it is a little dry this fall. The birds are appreciating it as well!
Where you are at your plan would work well.
My hens will begin to lay in January here, when do yours start?
Blessings,
Bo
I live on a sand dune. No matter how much it rains, there is never any mud.
