Nest Box in a Duck House?

Well I've been told if you place either a "fake" egg, like a wooden egg in the nesting box, then it would encourage them to lay there, but I tried that, and I'd find the wooden eggs I put in all over the coop and run. Guess my girls just didn't get it.

Mine just chose a corner in the barn and piled up the shavings, so I put up a piece of cardboard to give her some privacy.
