Greetings all,
Im new to the chicken world, actually dont have any yet, coming in May. Im building their new condo right now. I need to know which section of the house would be best to mount there nest boxes.
I live in the high desert of California, temp extremes 115 summer, 20 winter. The house (4x8) is in a simi shaded tree area. At mid day about 1/2 of the house, the back portion is in the sun. The front of the house is facing north. I plan lots of windows/ventilation plus they wont be confinded alot.
Where would be the best section of the house to mount their nest boxes? I will have 10 chickens and was told 4 boxes would be more than enough.

Thanks
Holly:)

Welcome to BYC!
If it is well ventilated, I wouldn't be too worried about were to put it in terms of heat, just out of the sunny area.
O would think about how easy it is for you to get the eggs. You don't want to have to traipse through a poopy hen house in 115 degree weather!
