nest box question

We have 12 hens and we recently started getting 2 eggs every two days. How much longer before they all will start laying and will they all start laying daily? They are all the same age.

That is a loaded question, the only real answer is that they will start laying when they start laying...

You need to make sure their diets are sufficient, they are unstressed, and that they are comfortable in their surroundings and then just wait it out...

OK thank u meepbeep. We are new to all this and wasn't sure if they all started laying at the same time.

Laying is never a sure thing, there are a lot of factors that will effect it... Some lay early some lay late, other lay nearly every day others only lay a few a week... Even once they start laying you will find periods of time that some or even all just all the sudden stop laying, then magically start again...

Do you have Hobby Lobby close?

They have them there as well, and much less expensive too. They are in the woodworking area, near the glass bottles and jars. 

Yes I do! I love Hobby Lobby!! I think I threw all my plastic Easter eggs away. Kids play with them after Easter until they are broke or lost outside haha. So I guess that answered my next question if they needed to be white or brown haha.

Color is irrelevant, just ask my 6 currently broody birds, sitting on yellow, orange, red, green and blue Easter eggs and guarding them aggressively...

Bwhahaha oh that is too funny!!! And thank you for all the info you posted, I had the same questions so I'm glad I found this thread! Once again BYC has helped me out

I use golf balls and fake eggs, heavy ones so they stay in the nest.
There have been 0-4 fakes in each nest for 2 years.
I switch them up sometimes just to see where the laid eggs will end up, favorite nest seems to trump existence or number of fake eggs.
Hasn't seemed to prompt broodiness, I have had a few but nothing extreme.
