How high in your coop are your nedt boxes?

Mine are about 2 ft. off the floor. Doesn't really matter how high they are, but as a good rule of thumb, keep them lower than your roost, or they will be sleeping in the boxes and filling em up with poo

Mine are 6 inches off the floor and 18 inches off the floor. I have a total of 8 they are 4 long 2 high.
You just want to keep them lower than your roost, and what ever is comfortable for you to get the eggs out of everyday.

Mine are right on the ground. They seem to like it there. I have some above the bottom boxes but they rarely if ever nest in there.

Mine never used the nest boxes, they always laid on the floor. So now, no more boxes (they made wonderful garden boxes) and just boards propped up against the wall of the coop to make a nice place to lay eggs.

Roughly about 2 ft. but like other people said as long as there lower than your roosts then you should be fine. I used the old golfball trick to get mine to start laying in the boxes and it seems to be working pretty well as I have only found 1 egg on the floor of the coop.

I didn't know about keeping it lower than the roost when I built my coop but they like to sit on top of it instead of inside it. (they don't lay eggs yet) They seem pretty comfortable and they still use the roosts.

Yea the way I built mine they are flush with the wall and has a lid on the outside so I can get the eggs out without having to actually go in the coop to get it. This is more so for my wife because her and my roo dont see eye to eye so she can collect eggs without having to deal with mr. attitude.
