Nest boxes and brooder started!

Started building nest boxes today... made one set of two.. will make at least 3 more


And the more exciting part.. started my brooder... no more rubber totes or sections of my coop.. it is 2’x8’ with a removable divider to make it 2x5 and 2x3. We have to put the hardware cloth on the front still and doors on each end and cut spots for heat lamp if needed. I will be using a premier 1 heat plate for the Littles but if I have two different ages (ie day olds and 2 week olds) I’ll have it split..

We did add blankets to be rolled up or down based on temp after this pic on the ends.
This brooder will eventually be moved to the back of my barn where I have a workshop/tack area but I have to organize it so there is room.
