nest boxes

just completed my nest boxes,should they be painted first before installin and if so what color? i am new at raising chickens ? have 21 layers that are 16 weeks old . i built 10 boxes.plan on maybe a few more hens later on. thanks

Calming colors would be nice, blue or green. Bright and bold colors tend to make chickens hyper or nervous. Basically any pastel color would be great.
