nest boxes?

Does each hen need there own nest box? In thw process of building my coop just trying to figure out how many nest boxes i need. Ill bave 6 hens if that helps.....

How many birds? Normally 3 or 4 will lay in same nest.

I have 11 birds 6 nest boxes the most they ever use is 2 nest boxes. Most times just the one (always the same 2 nest boxes ).

2 would be plenty, 3 is for sure enough for 6. as mentioned already, they'll all lay in the same one most of the time.


before I ask you a design question, I'll say I love how it's looking so far! How did you attach your 2x4 wheel mounts? are those just screws? I'd advise putting two 3/8 bolts through the 2x4 and the frame with flat washers on both sides, a lock washer and a nut. I don't think I'd trust just four nails or even screws to hold up for long moving the tractor around much

Yeah just 6 screws,was thinking of swaping out for longer 2×4 and that would deffinently require bolts....
