We have been getting terrible rain storms here lately and one of my nest boxes took on some water and my hen still layed an egg in it. When I removed the egg that morning it was sitting in brown foul water that has since been cleaned and the problem has been corrected. Are the contents of the egg protected bt the shell or is this egg just as foul as the water? Should I toss it?
