I have two bantam Cochin exactly the same age. One started laying Monday and laid in the same nesting box everyday but one. Yesterday I had an egg in a different box. Could this mean my other is laying now or do pullets/ hens just switch up nesting boxes readily? TIA

I have a girl that just started laying 17 days ago and has used each of our 3 nest boxes a few times each. I wouldn't be surprised if your girl switched it up, but it could certainly be another one, too.

They don't always lay in the same place. You'll need to wait for the first day that you get two eggs unless one egg looks much different from another.

Thank you. I was hoping it was a new layer but after observing for a few days I've realized it's still her.
