Hey y’all, I’ve been waiting and waiting to see how my roll away nest box would work. Glad to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by how well it’s working! My girls started laying a few weeks ago. I’m now getting about 3 eggs per day, great.
The biggest issue with my old coop and flock was poop on my eggs! It was gross and frustrating. Since I built the new setup I haven’t had even one egg get dumped on! 14 degrees seems to be the answer for my flock! Did you glue it down or just cut a snug fit?
My girls scratch so hard they kick out all their nesting material!

I just laid it in tight. I’ve heard them scratching in there, but haven’t had any issues yet. I wanted to be able to clean it if necessary.

I didnt think of cleaning it! Lol
Im going to put that box on my list of "Try This"!
Thanks so much for sharing 👍

It was easy to build, very worth it the effort. I built it because all the ones I saw for sale were designed such that you had to enter the coop to get the eggs. 14 degree slope, 👍
