nesting box height for a silkie

I read that silkies dont really roost.... so how high should I have nesting boxes for silkies?

Ground level or only a couple of inches is what I have found. My Silkies would not even go up a 12 inch high ramp. They would rather be on the ground. The little A-frame that they are in has a small coup attached that is only about 4 inches up from ground level and that seems to be the highest they will go.
