nesting box how many?

I'm get 7 hens., when they are old enough to lay eggs will I need a nesting box for each?

I have 3 nesting boxes for my 7 hens. I don't have eggs yet, but I've read that the hens will share nesting boxes.

The odds are great that all 7 will lay in the same box. It is again part of the strong social structure of chickens.

That said, build two. Once in a great, great while they'll use both. I have a dozen hens in one pen and they ALL lay in one box. Rarely, two, but that's it.

We have 6 hens and we built 3 nesting boxes.

For 7 hens, you should have 2 nest boxes.

I have 16 and this is what I have...waiting for egg #1 to be dropped in a box, found egg #1 on the ground outside broken on Wed.

I also know they will share a box...so don't go over board...

I've got 8 hens, and 3 nesting boxes and they all share the end one, they always have :S :L
