Bryant Redhawk
Songster
Our nesting boxes are set up for Dominique and Buckey hens. They are 14" deep x 14" wide x 14 inches high. We have a step board out front and a 1x4 keeper board across the openings, there are two levels of 4 boxes.
With your set up I would add a rim around the lid for some poop litter, and place the roost over that with around 8" of free space towards the box openings. That way you may not have much problem with others bothering the ones laying or brooding.
Slanted lids are usually preferred but if you think things out well, you can dual purpose spaces in a coop, it just takes a little more planning.
