This is my first time trying this, all because my dil bought me 6 chickens 10 months ago. How many do I have? 26, somehow, lol.How many hens do you have? 1 nest serves 3-5 hens.

Maybe you should get a picture of the area. I've used the kitty litter tubs and these produce boxes set into the place where I went them to lay. The boxes can be stacked and wtired together, but they don't have to be elevated. Your back might appreciate it if they are though.I never thought of boxes!! I don't know how I'd elevate them though
I have a few milk crates, not enough, but I was thinking it may be too small.

Maybe duct tapeI wasn't sure about painting them, due to the chemicals from possible paint chips or pealing. I actually have an old rv canopy/awning that, that I could possibly use.
