Nesting Box Question?

My pullets are going to start laying at the end of this month. I have them in a moveable pen. The way to get access to the pen is a door on top that you lift up. I was wondering if anyone has a good idea as to what to do for a nesting box? I would like to take it out each night so to avoid roosting in it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Is there a way to make it so they don't tip them over and pull all of the bedding out of it? We have had this happen in the past.

Thanks,

First off, the buckets or crates SHOULD be laid on their sides. On the bucket idea, you can use about 1/3rd of the lid to hold nesting material. If you use a milk crate, you can attach a 1X4 to the front. Do a search on this site for bucket nests for images and ideas.
