Nesting Box Windows

The coop I have came with has two windows on the three nesting box doors. The first weeks our chickens were in the hen house, they laid in one of the boxes without issues. A few weeks ago, one chicken, one who would always go in an bury the eggs, moved the nest. Oddly, she is not laying. The laying hens moved there and have kept using that spot. I'd really like to encourage them back to the nesting boxes. I wonder if the windows are discouraging them from nesting there. Any advice?

 
Hens favor very dark, quiet and "cozy" nesting boxes...I think they're reacting to the fact that they are "on stage" now....might re-think and cover those holes over...

Thank you! My gut feeling was exactly this. I am going to figure out how to cover these now.
