Nesting Box

Looking for different ideas on what to use in our nesting boxes. Right now I'm using shavings....it seems they throw it out faster than I can replace it.

My uncle is a manger of a bank and I get all the shredded paper I want.
I use it for nest boxes,in the brooder and then it goes to the compost pile.

Many of us use all kinds of different stuff, shavings, straw, hay, carpet, shredded paper, Spanish moss, rags, and the list goes on. Perhaps the problem is not what you are using but how you are using it? How high is the lip on your nest? I had that problem until I raised the lip, it’s now about 5” high. The problem went away.
