Nesting boxes at the ground level of the coop

My experince with the heights of nesting boxes is being in a cold climate area that the higher up the more mine like it in the winter, most likely because of the temp/heat lamp. The bottom row for some reason they like to scratch the eggs out of in the open but it might be because i need to raise the board a little to keep there nesting material in boxes a little better. They still seem too always have a favorite box though! My chickens backed in the box always use the right side so I guess my chickens are all right handed!

Here are some pics of mine. They are at ground level but accessed at eye level outside.

I have just built a coop; my first! I have built 4 nesting boxes on the ground level. The roost will be higher. The whole coop is 2 feet off the ground. Will my chickens like the coop ground level nesting boxes? I have seen designs where the boxes are off the ground and fewer where they are at ground level. Any expereince to share about this? Many thanks.
