Nesting Boxes out of a Bookcase

So I had an old 5-shelf bookcase that I don't use anymore, so thought that if I turned it on the side and added partitions I could make it like a cubby station. Then add trim to the outside so the nesting material dosn't fall out. I would rest it on top of some cinderblocks so its raised up off the floor.

Problem is, I have NO IDEA how I should go about modifying it and what tools I would need. I do have sheets of plywood, so that's at least a start!

Anyone got any ideas/suggestions? THANX!

you could always just stand it up and attach it to the wall with some nails or something and then place the part to keep nesting from falling out across the front of the shelves and then your nests would be at different heights some of my hens prefer higher nests to where other prefer the lower ones
