nesting boxes

So I built these as I start my coop building. They are 3 fruit boxes on a backing and shelf like underneath. They are 12x12x16, any issues? Big enough? Thanks in advance, I know that I still have to build an angled top to keep them off of it an all. Just wondered you guys thoughts

If you are planning on adding loose nesting material, might want to add a narrow board along the bottom at the front to hold the material in.

hi to help with bugs you can cut tar paper and put in the bottom under your nesting material..........mike

What a cute idea. I think any hen would love it. Plenty big. Yes, maybe put a lip on the front so your girls don't kick all the bedding out. Looks like you have a landing in front of the box? Good stuff. Jump up, carefully walk in.
