Nesting boxes

First time chicken owner here! Thoughts on these as nesting boxes for the coop? They are 12.9x11.5”. Thanks!

Those should work okay if the plastic is thick enough. That may depend on how heavy your breeds are, but that may break if a big hen jumped up on it. You would want the plastic to barely flex when you bend it, then you would know it could stand up to a hen jumping on the side of it.

You may need to make sure that they aren't under the roosts since they would accidentally get droppings in them, too, or you could secure a cover over them. Are you going to secure them to the walls of your coop or leave them on the ground?

They should definitely be attached to a wall or something, so they don't tip when a bird jumps up on the edge.
