Nesting Boxes

I have a quick question. Should the filler in the nesting boxes (I'm using pine shavings) be the same as on the floor of the coop? My girls just turned 16 weeks old and I would like to be ready for the delivery boxes. Any inputs?

I've seen people use either shavings or straw with equal success.

I use pine shavings for both, a nice thick layer.

I use Pine shavings for both with no issues! Eggs are always in the nest.
