I am picking up 7 hens tomorrow and I currently have 2 hens. The 7 hens are Bantams and the 2 hens are a mix of Australorp and Orphington. How many nesting boxes do I need to build and how big should I make them. Can I make smaller ones for the Bantams or do they all need the same size? How big of an area do 8 Bantams plus 4 Australorp/Orphington mixes need for a coop and run?

I make all nests 12X12 or larger. I'd have 3 or 4 nests for 9 birds since they're not friends yet but that's probably more than enough. They'll likely only use 2.
4 sq ft per bird in the coop and 10 in the run is a minimum for LF.

I have 9 large fowl (different breeds) and one open communal box that's 18' wide x 15' deep x 15' high. It lets three birds in there at the same time (which they will still try and do if you build each of them a box!)
