Nesting Herbs for Chickens

You better not be pulling my leg, because now I totally want to try this! 😅

I'm not a fan of commercial nest box herbs for one reason: they're too strong. I've tried a couple brands and they're all like grandma's potpourri sachets. It's bad enough having to lay an egg. I'll keep the smell neutral for them.
I’ve had nearly an entire jar (it got lost in the spice cabinet) on the coop platform for nearly two months, and there’s still a quarter of a jar left. It doesn’t take a ton!

I know what you mean about pot pourri. I started sneezing in sympathy when I read that.

it was an elderly lady who I assumed probably didnt know a ton...
Sorry but I have to take offense with that statement! If an elderly woman had chickens or geese, she probably has had them for many years and probably knows way more than the rest of us about raising them! No judgement on you, just thinking we can learn an awful lot from our elders😁

I really need to start watching this show, or at least catch up on it. People keep quoting episodes at me, giving me Meaningful Looks.
Way off OPs topic, but…
My youngest (22yrs) is Sheldon Cooper, right down to the white boards and overly complex mathematics. once I hot a handmade mother’s day card written in binary! I still have no clue what that is.

So in my family im known as the crazy chicken lady and recently this has led people just giving me stuff which over hasn't been bad however on of my aunt's dropped of an assortment of things from a client that had recently got rid of her Geese.

Most of the stuff I knew and recognized like feed, shavings, grit etc but one I didnt know anything about was Nesting Herbs, ive heard of them but never used them and when looking up the herds on it most were safe but online it also said Rose petals, Chrysanthemum, Wormwood and Tangerine peels could possibly be harmful or toxic! I wouldn't worry if I didnt know my chickens would definitely try to eat it.... Ive put a photo of the bag below can anyone them me if its safe for Chickens or Ducks?
I don't know about the rest of them, but after researching rose petals I found they are good for them in moderation as a treat (as long as they are pesticide free). My girls go nuts over them.
