I have a mix breed hen who is 1.8 years old, she is having the physical and behave like an active laying hen, except she does not produce any egg.
She started laying egg at around 6 months old, she laid egg for 4 months, then continued behaving like she is laying egg, but no egg came. Her tummy got bigger and warm, other than that she was behaving normal, eating, drinking, and hangouting with the flock.
I had her on implant and this lasted for 5 months, she is now back doing all the behaviour of egg laying, but no egg at the end of it. The usual nesting, throwing grass over her shoulder, doing the egg song, but no egg.
Her comb is bright red, vent is of a laying hen, stomach is round and soft. She is eating, jumping over the fence, and hanging out with the flock as per usual.
Once, I gave her calcium tablet for 3 days, she stopped nesting. A few days after I stopped the calcium tablet, she was back nesting again.
Very odd behaviour, is there anything I can do for her or wait until she shows further sign of issue?
A few years back, I had a hen behaving like that, but before no egg, she was laying soft shell egg here and there. She was sick. After she was euthanized, I open her up to see if there was internal laying, there was no internal laying anywhere in her body, just swollen intestine.

Just wait a little. I know its almost spring time for you. So, maybe things will shake out and she starts to lay eggs.
