My two ducks (One Pekin and one Buff) are 17 weeks old. They'll probably start laying in 4-5 weeks, right? Do they need nesting boxes like chickens do?

That's about right - with the advice that some ducks take their own sweet time.

If you see them acting out mating, it may be only a month till laying, or, like - I think it was @cayugaducklady who had ducks that took a long time to lay after they started playing hop on top.

Anyway, before too long it will be time to set out free choice oyster shell so they'll have enough calcium in their systems for strong egg shells.

My Runners are not keen on nesting boxes. They like to make their own nests in corners.
