Nests

I have 4 Columbian Wyandot bantams that just started laying eggs. The problem is that they only lay while on the roast so the eggs land in the droppings. There are 4 fresh clean nests available but they do not use them. Any thoughts on how to get them to use the nests. I have had chickens before but never encountered this problem. Thaks in advance.

Mine only did this a few times, but if you take eggs and put them in the hen house, and put food in there too maybe that’ll work

Placing a fake egg or golf ball in the nests often works.

Since they are new layers it may take a couple days/weeks to get everyone putting eggs where they belong.
