Would having her spayed be helpful? All of my bunnies have been altered and they are all very friendly, both males and females.

They won't kill them if you touch them. You can touch her first so her scent is on your hands, then check on them. I don't usually bother since most of mine could care less. I'd just watch them when they start to get out of the box to be sure she isn't being aggresive towards them. How old are they now? If she is spending alot of time in the box you might have to clean it sooner if she is fouling the nestbox.

It is easier to check on the kits if you remove the doe, LOL Esp if she is trying her very best to eat you! I'm thankful that 99% of mine are good Mommas, they make a nest, put the babies where they belong, feed them.

They where born on Thursday afternoon. Expected the Sunday before. I will check tomorrow then. She is being a good mommy and is in the box twice a day when she feeds them. Im excitted to see what babies she has. I use to raise rabbits when I was a kid, but we have had some for a year now and this is the first litter that we have had! So we are very excitted!

My Netherland dwarf buck will attack your hand while you are putting food in his dish also. He will bite the ever loving %$#%$# out of you. Normally he is very timid, allowing you to hold him anyway you want without kicking or clawing.

He bit my wife, daughter, and finally me. Every time it was while putting pellets into his dish. Now we poor the food into his dish from six inches above the dish.He will rush in so fast you will dump a little of the food on his head.

Your hand is not what he is after,its the food. You are just putting your hand in his path. You can also try two food bowls. Drop a little food into one dish so he can rush in. When you add food to the second dish his reaction will be much different. He most likely won't leave the first dish.

It is funny that your rabbit is showing the same trait! You know the old saying"Never stand between a dwarf and his food."Maybe I just made that up.LOL!

It could be a territorial behavior. I have 3 netherland dwarfs. One that will nail me for getting in the cage with him in it. But is fine once out. Maybe try calmly getting her out with gloves if needed. And setting her down in a room that is safe and just sit still. She is bound to get curious of you.
