I need to redo the tops of our runs/enclosure as we get ready to expand it out. In your experience what netting has held up best?

I am in Florida, so no snow.

We have squirrels and coons and all the regular night visitors.

We also have owls, red tail hawks, Coopers Hawks, Ausprey Hawks and Bald Eagles (thanks to the space center) and wild boar and bobcats.

Everyone goes into the barn, doors shut at night so the netting is more for daytime fly overs and to keep them from fly/climbing up and out. (2 fat butts like to do this, and are fun to watch reach the top and realize they cant get out (shade cloth & wire there currently)

Edit: Where is your favorite spot to buy from also :-) thanks for your thoughts

No netting will hold up to a coon - but they are mainly nocturnal and might not even try it. Deer netting is cheaper and a little sturdier than bird netting.

IF you decide to get a net, I recommend this seller on ebay called nautical-nets-buoys-and-more (or something similar). He sells what he lists as poultry netting (and golf netting, baseball netting, etc) and they come in a wide range of sizes (colors, too). The dimensions for the netting varies too as far as the hole size. Prices are pretty low (I think I paid $25 for 25'x16') and shipping is, as well. It keeps my chickens in, and hawks out.

Where did you find the best price for deer netting? I have a 30'x30' area to cover, a couple of trees and hawks, racoons, foxes you name it, we are in the woods, so I'm taking all precautions, electrice fence, netting over the top, Just wonderer where is best place to buy.
