We have a crested duckling, about 3 weeks old. She has a large fluffy crest in her head and has been moving her head in an odd way. She looks forward then moves her head to the side so she is looking right, then repeats the movement, over and over. Her crest partially covers her left eye, and has flopped over to the side a bit and she has what looks like a raw area above her eye from the flopping over of the crest. We are treating that area, just don't know if the odd head movement is because of the crest, or its a neurological issue. I'm leaning more towards a neurological issue. Is this a mineral or other deficiency? Anyway to treat this? Is this common with crested ducks? She is on duck food supplemented with niacin.
