I brought home 2, 1 day old Cayugas last week. They came from a local breeder that I've bought ducklings from before, with no issues.
In the same brooder, I have 2 Khaki Campbell's that came from Ideal, they're about a week and a half old now, and healthy.
My problem is with one of the Cayugas. He does a flutter with his beak, like what they do when they're eating. But this one does it 24/7, I've even watched him do it in his sleep. It doesn't seem to be connected to an object, he will do the little nibble on the side of the brooder, on hands, on his duckling friends, or just in the air. The air-nibbling is what worries me the most. Is this a normal thing, like maybe he's exploring his environment, checking for food, ect.? No other ducking that I've previously had, or have now, does this.
I'll try to attach a video of the nibbling if anyone wants to see it.
