Neurotic new mom syndrome

I agree... I have hatched a lot of chicks, and they stay inside and I don't smell them, nor does my wife. To show how off the deep end we are, We have 4 seramas in our room at night since they were tiny little chicks. No dust, a little pine shavings out of the cage everyonce in a while, but a quick cleanup. I keep hearing about dust, and all this stuff, but just have not ever seen it. Nice and tidy.. now I guess of you had OCD then yes, it would be an issue. But we clean the cage (which is the LARGE dog kennel with little cardboard partitions and nesting boxes, a couple times a week. But now they go outside on good days for a while. Good days being not rainy or extreamly cold.

Thank you for all the support! It's been a crazy week so we haven't had much time to fine tune the brooder situation any more. I'm guessing we'll brood inside for a couple weeks while the weather warms up. If it's super stinky or messy, that will just be motivation for DH to work on the coop.

It seemed like we had so much time to get everything ready and now all of a sudden my chicks are about to hatch!
