We might be moving to Lovelock Nevada (1 hour from Reno) and we were wondering how we can lookup the livestock rules for that area and see if we can raise chicekns where we are going. We're going to miss our chickens soo much here!!

It depends if you are moving into City limits or not. Lovelock is in Pershing County. You can google the city of Lovelock and check on the city code. I doubt there is any restrictions at the county level. In my experience, NV counties are pretty easy going where livestock is concerned with the possible exception of Clark and even then I know of folks out in Overton and places outside the Metropolitian area that keep chickens.

I used to fish at Ryepatch Dam ever fall. Good Memories there. Lovelock farmers grow some of the best hay in the nation. They ship all over the country mostly to racing folks. Good luck on your move. I hope you enjoy the many shades of Nevada.

Jamie,

Judging by how relaxed Reno is on chicken laws, I think you have NOTHING to worry about in Lovelock! It's a few blinks of light, out among the sagebrush, as you drive through I-80 to get to anyplace else. "Rural" is pretty much the dresscode.
