My co-op has chicks that were born on march 25. I was thinking about buying 4 EE chicks. My question is how much longer would they need to be under a heat lamp or do i even need to put them under one at that age?

They are only 3 weeks old, they won't be fully feathered for another two weeks. They'll need a heat lamp until then...also where will you put them after that... will it be well sheltered?

Even grown hens like a little shelter from the wind and rain.

I have a side box attached to my coop it is 36"x 42" covered and shingled with a 3' x 8' run. Not sure if iam going to get them yet but would love to have them i am just starting out.

My pullets feathered at 4 wks.

I put mine out at 3 weeks with a sheltered coop and a fenced in area they run around in

They were fine in their heated coop when they all snuggled
