I think I may have discovered an unexpected benefit to the A-frame coop design: The walls never get dirty! I finished mine in late 2016, and yet even though it has housed ten chickens for over 16 months (11 when I had a rooster), the walls are as clean as they were when I built it!
OK, I may have had to sweep off a cobweb or two from the upper corners every now and then but that's it. Not a speck of poop has ever graced their panels. And ten hens can produce a respectable amount of poop; a 12 oz. coffee can full per day, and that's just from the trays under the roosts. Other than picking up the stray dropping every now and then all I have to clean is the floor (and the top of the cabinet), and that's only when I change their bedding every 3-4 months.
