I was a little surprized to see that this thread has continued on. However maybe it should stay alive at least until Ranchie can quit using the word Huh. I talked with her yesterday and her ears are continuing to ring.
The comments about guns and gun safety are very appropriate. My sons were taught a young age the seriousness and consequences of using a gun and that even BB guns are to be treated with the same respect as any other gun.
An excellent object lesson that I used with them was to show them what could happen to an eye when struck with a BB. I poured liquid jello into a small ballon forming an eye size ball and refrigerated. Once it had set, they were instructed to show their BB guns at it. Afterward they were amazed at the damage the BB inflicted in the "eye".
