Never had chickens before, got 4 now.

As others have said, no night light is necessary - for chickens night time is for roosting and sleeping.

I had a heat lamp the first three months for my chickens- which they needed when they were that young- they do not need a night light for sure- but heat lamp during the cold winters even as adults unless coop is pretty secure.
Commercial chickens for egg laying, they actually keep the light on all night to get the chickens to lay more often than their normal of every 25/26 hours- but this is brutal to the chickens and their health being kept up.
