Hello, I have used this site for information countless times. So, I finally decided to join in in the fun. I have fifteen chickens, but don't tell the city.I keep the neighbors supplied with eggs, and so far, all is good. I got my first six last year, lost one to a hawk. Got six more this year, and adopted four from a friend. I need to add some pix. I made a huge enclosure, my kids swings are inside it, so my girls are all safe and my kids keep them company. I have two coops, I know odd. But my first coop was my kids playhouse once they out grew it. The second one, built for the new girls.

that's about all.

Kids and chickens seem to go so well together, my daughter likes to get into the coop! Promise I didnt see any of your chickens!

Bet the chickens would love to swing with your kids . Some people have even made swings in the coop, some actually like to roost on them.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our community! Sorry you lost one of your babies to a hawk. Hopefully you can get them all secured in soon.

Make yourself at home and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC!! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Hawks are always so hard to deal with and I'm sorry for your loss.

Welcome. I started chickens for practical purposes. I was surprised as well by the chicken bug! I never expected my food source to have such personality and to be so entertaining. I am certain that many of my hens, and probably a few roos, will get free rides into old age! So much for practicality!!!

Alright
