Never thought you could really get addicted to a website about chickens. I was wrong.

I don’t have any right now but I really want some. I’m also considering them for my show breed.

They're pretty. Laced breeds are really hard to perfect though, so keep that in mind. I would start with a solid color breed. Like white or black. Bantams are realky great for showing because they're small and easy to handle.

So, when you join the website all the members are like “be careful this website is addictive” and to myself I think, “ I’m never going to get addicted to a website I ask chicken question on.” Now here I am today spending four hours reading chicken forums.

Yes, he's diapered! Boy, are they expensive, but at least it keeps him socializing. That one is from Avian Fashions. I bought some from Amazon because I needed them FAST, but they restrict his movements. The One from Avian Fashions is great.

I didn't even notice the diaper! Lol! How did he take to it? I was thinking about getting one for my quail a while back. He was super tame. Unfortunately he got sick and passed away, but his sister just started laying and every single one of her eggs is in the incubator! Lol

You don’t realize until it’s too late.

Yup! And by then you’re in too deep.

I was good and stuck to 8 chickens for like 4 years and then last year I added 5 more, bought an incubator, hatched for the first time (ended up with almost all boys), now have a rooster when I never thought I would, then added 9 more chickens this year and am now up to 19

It was 23 but have had some recent losses.

Anyway, 19 now and I had to build a new coop to house them all

And now I’m wanting to hatch Jack’s babies and waiting is so hard.

I added two parakeets this year and have quail eggs in the incubator right now so the addiction has spread to other birds as well
