I just wanted to share a picture of my newest addition! I have a broody hen that has been laying for a few weeks and this little one arrived last week! :jumpy
It had quite a rough start as it was having trouble getting out of the shell so I ended up intervening and put it in the incubator, but you certainly wouldn't know it now as it is very active and adventurous! My momma hen took to it immediately and it is thriving!! Today, it decided to climb Mt. Momma! :D

So adorable!! I love to watch momma hens raise their little ones. You can learn so much from a momma hen. I have even had broody hens adopt chicks that needed the special care of a momma hen. Such a sweet picture.

Aww that's so cute I'm incubating eggs what kinds of chickens are those?
I am actually not totally sure lol I know the momma hens dad is my black silkie bantam. He has gold on his neck like her, but I'm not 100% who her mom is as I have a variety of hens! I have RIR's, barred rocks, Wyandottes, an orange silkie bantam, and a buff orpington so I'm not sure! Anyone have a guess?
I also have no idea who the baby belongs to as I had several hens lay their eggs in that roost and this hen just decided to lay on them! I'll know more once it gets bigger!

What kind of eggs are you incubating?!

It looks like a RIR or a BO so cute
Yea, I think a RIR...and she is such a good mom and very patient with me! She shows the chick how to eat and let's it walk all over her and she is very patient with me when I lift her wings and move the chick around! Sometimes she will glare at me lol but she is being so good!
