I stopped by the feed store on Friday to pick up a baby goose & they had some older chicks discounted(buy 5 get 1 free) so i checked them out. Of Course I had to get the big Polish chick that was in there
, it was the only one. Most were layer breeds but i saw a few Silkies so i went ahead and got all 4 of those. The guy was nice enough to let me get a younger Silkie out of the other bin to make an even 6 for the discount price.
So I came home with..
3 Buff Silkies
2 White Silkies
1 Buff Laced Polish
1 Embden gosling
The Silkies come straight run so that kind of sucks but it looks like i might have a couple girls. they're all pretty jumpy right now but 2 are getting much more friendly (the 'girls' i think). They should fit in pretty well with my 5 Cochins once theyre big enough.
The 3 boys needed more girls anyway, they've started hanging out together since 2 girls went broody & franny was molting & always with the broody girls.
Any ideas of sexes?
