Hi everyone. I'm just getting started with my backyard chickens. After several years of telling my husband I wanted chickens, we are finally going for it. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Good morning and welcome to BYC!

What breed(s) of chickens are you planning on getting? If you haven't already, check out the Learning Center articles to help you get started. I hope you'll have as much fun raising your birds as we have ours.

If you'd like to 'meet' some other MO members, you can find them here:

Good luck to you & have fun!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Good luck with this new adventure! What breeds are you planning on getting? I would recommend buff orpingtons. They are friendly, great layers, cold hardy and do fine with living in confinement and urban areas.
