Sorry for the long time for a response. Been a busy few weeks. Yes I was in the Army Signal Corps. Came up here in 96 to spend my time at Ft. Rich supporting the 172 Arctic light infantry. So as far as chickens are concerned, trying to figure out where to place a coop with the city restrictions and keeping a pleasant look for my property. I have the feeling my winter project this year will be building the coop in preparation for getting some chicks in the spring. Which at least gives me and the wife a bunch of time for some research. With the way my house sits on my property I may want to go with a large mobile coop, so I can keep them out of the way at night and move them about during the day. Also need to make sure they are puppy proof on the off chance my two dogs think harassment may be a new pastime.

Hi again SigCorps. I also was in the 172nd Infantry Brigade ( 524th ordinance Co.) Nice to meet a former member of the 172nd. Good luck with your coop and your birds. I want to someday go back to Anchorage and see how it has changed since 1979. Keep us posted on your progress.
