New member, new chicken mama... or grandma maybe 🧐 I have 1 rooster, 1 hen. After reading for days I decide to close her off and let her hatch her babies. Now, as I second guess myself and investigate more I dont know if I made the right decision. Rooster (his name) is very very well a rooster... he chased my 7 year old down today and I’m afraid he will hurt the babies.. should I put them back together, leave them apart awhile. I have considered making her a run by the main coop for when she decides to get babies out to wonder around!!! I don’t know what to do 😔😔

A rooster may chase people, but generally is protective of his flock. I do not have a rooster, and do not hatch chicks ether. I do know that peeps do not separate away their roosters, and have broody hens watch over chicks. Lets see what others think.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome
