Welcome! I'm sorry your chick got injured. Sounds like this will definitely be a learning experience, one of many.

One day, I randomly only left one food bowl in the run, and I came home to a bird with a badly pecked eye. She healed up fine thankfully, but there was a bloody mess in the meantime, and I really was kind of shocked, because my whole flock is normally just so peaceable. I don't think I even realized that putting out both bowls mattered to them, but I guess it did.

Things do happen though, hopefully your bird is not too badly hurt and heals up okay for you.
