That is just awesome Too Fast! I picked up a few pallets a couple days ago and plan on going today where they sometimes have large crates and pallets with sheets of plywood on them. I will have pictures of my progress. And you are right about that feed. My babies should be good inside for about 8 weeks unless those jersey giants grow super fast. Here are a couple pictures of mine.

One of the Jerseys imprinted on my son. Too bad he was only here for the day. I hope she doesn't miss him too much.

Cody all cuddled up with the girls!
Yeah well that's what we thought. Plenty of time to build the coop, but they outgrew the inside container we had, so we got another one. Then 2 weeks later they were squeezed for space again, so we did a mad mission last weekend to get the coop built! And they are just now 5 weeks old.

We couldn't deal with the prolific poop production of the cute little things, so there was no way we'd let them run around the house. Your chicks look huggable.

Wow I sure hope that doesn't happen here. I am expecting to keep them inside 6 to 8 weeks. But I should have the coop up before that time comes.I do also have a place inside I can put them if they outgrow this kennel. It is only 3 1/2" X 2 1/2". And I have one of those puppy play yards that is pretty big I can put up and move daily if I need to. Just need to get moving so I won't have to work that hard.

Uhhhh, 3.5 x 2.5 is only enough room for about 6 chickens until they are about 3 weeks old. I found this out by experience, this past March. That's why we had to get another breeder, which they outgrew in another 2 weeks. So we worked very hard and quickly to complete the coop lol. Get moving and work hard LOL! We whipped up this tractor in less than 2 hours today, to give the chicks some sun:

Thanks for all this great advice. And the wonderful pictures. I just love seeing what you have done. My sister-in-law hooked me up with a torn down shed but it has been in a pile for a year now. I am going to go today and see if it has any wood that is still good. If I am able to create anything I will be sure to post some pictures.
