(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new to chickens, just got our first chicks after months of reasearch (including here in BYC)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 15 right now
(3) What breeds do you have?
6 speckled sussex
6 Buff orpington
3 golden-laced Cochins
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My first reason for chickens was to teach my young kids a sense of responsibility by caring for the chickens (mostly just collecting eggs at this point) and the other life lessons that come from caring for livestock/pets
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Building/working on my house and land
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Family of four with two young daughters, no other pets and a registered nurse by trade
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found it from a google search and eventually found myself frequenting this site more than any others. Once we finally got our chickens I knew I would want to be posting bad decided to join.
