Welcome to BYC. My friend has had one or more (at a time) housechickens for over 25 years. Cochins, buff orps, mixed, silkies and seramas. Currently she has 3 silkies and 2 seramas in the home. She doesn't diaper them but, cleans up after them - on the spot, when she is home. They fight to sit on a chair and watch tv with her. They and the dog wait by the front door for her to return from errands then they mob her for attention.
Seramas especially were bred in Malaysia to be house pets. They take confinement well and are one of the smallest chickens breeds - generally under 1.5 lbs. Do subscribe to the people with house chickens to get more ideas etc. Lots of people are not zoned for chickens but, can still have them this way. To the average person they seem more like some kind of parrot or other cage bird. The silkies seem fine in the house also and look like some exotic foo foo dog to people., people never think they are chickens.
